Meagan Good - Venice Beach 2008
16x20 Portfolio Print on Giclée Hahnemühle Matt Fine Art Paper
In the final moments of our shoot, I asked actress Meagan Good to cry. Watching an actor tap into their emotions and bring themselves to the brink of tears is a profound experience. The room fell silent, creating a space for Megan to fully immerse herself in the moment.
This image was captured on an 8x10 Wooden Deardorff Film Camera, a format that excels in preserving the intricate details of such an intimate shot. The clarity—right down to the tear—highlights both the depth of her performance and the precision of the large-format medium.
I love working with large format cameras because they slow down the image-making process, fostering intentionality and deeper communication. The presence of the camera transforms the session into a true collaboration, encouraging focus, connection, and a shared sense of purpose between photographer and subject. This photograph is a testament to that synchronicity.
Please note that these are Studio Archived prints in near-perfect condition. They were originally created as part of a presentation portfolio or for special events. These prints are signed but not editioned.
