This stunning portrait of Lupita Nyong’o was captured during The Hollywood Reporter Actress Roundtable, where my mission was to photograph seven iconic women of the year. I created both group shots and individual portraits, but these two singles of Lupita remain personal favorites.
Her gentle, poised beauty radiates against a textured backdrop of painted blue and gray muslins, chosen to contrast the elegance of the dresses and the artistry of hair and makeup crafted by some of the industry’s finest talent. The interplay of textures and tones highlights Lupita’s ethereal presence, creating a timeless and captivating image.
Though one of the most challenging covers I’ve ever worked on, this shoot stands as a testament to the resilience and creativity that made it all come together. This print celebrates an unforgettable moment of artistry and collaboration.
